Ryan Keys, from Coon Rapids, MN., plays drums in touring Indianapolis, IN rock band Hero Jr. With an essence somewhere between the best of Nirvana and the heavy simplicity of early Black Sabbath and 70s British rock, Hero Jr. gives listeners all the expected dynamics, power and unscripted performances of a great classic rock band, with melodic, lyrical and musical hooks that keep listeners singing along. In terms of work ethic and dedication Hero Jr. is an old school band, but their crisp live sound sets the bar for “real” modern rock music. Ryan joined Hero Jr. in 2017, after playing and touring with many Minneapolis bands and has been on the road with them since moving to Indy. As with Hero Jr.'s two previous drummers, the band gave Ryan a set of Amedias from the start! Ryan and the band just completed a national tour supporting John 5 & The Creatures. Currently the band are taking a road break to write and record the 8th Hero Jr. album, and Ryan;s first with the band. Hero Jr. couldn't be happier sharing the stage with Ryan. The dude just kicks ass for days!

Some of Ryan's favorite artists are Zeppelin, Sabbath, Nirvana, QOTSA, Metz, and The Bronx.

Ryan's Amedia Cymbals have an important role in the band. "I honestly feel like I'm in Led-Zeppelin when ever I hit my 24' Crash. It's awesome. And though my cymbals are gigantic, they are not overbearing. The warmth and musicality of them really let the vocals cut through both live and in the studio. We just finished a tour supporting John 5 & The Creatures and we got thumbs up from the sound crew who noticed Amedia's special sound. I'm lucky to play drums at this level and I'm happy that Amedia Cymbals are with me along the way."
